BuckleyGrayYeoman were asked by Fred Perry to fit-out their first shop in Wales. The shop takes prime position on the main high street in Cardiff, set in a classical listed Arcade. Working on a tight budget the proposal is based on taking the classic shop window arcade display and giving it a modern twist. The shop features traditional parquet flooring and hanging light fixtures, offset by sleek modernist features crafted in heritage materials. At the heart of the proposal is a grid of display plinths, which house and display the clothing selection in a gallery like setting. Fred Perry’s iconic laurel logo is picked up throughout the store in crafted brass pieces.
