Channel 5 Bridge

London W1

  • Address: Long Acre, London W1
    Client: Channel 5 Broadcasting Ltd

BuckleyGrayYeoman was approached by Channel 5 Broadcasting to create ‘a simple, logically-engineered, artistically interesting, cost-effective, beautiful way’ of getting their staff (and the all-important tea trolley) across an internal atrium space separating two of their buildings. By using existing Grade II listed beams for support, the practice came up with a solution that was at once dynamic and almost invisible (due to the polished stainless steel finish). The bridge was made by MarzoratiRonchetti in their workshop in Milan and brought to London on the back of a lorry!
