Driven by a passion for design, Amr finds clear and elegant solutions to complex briefs. He has designed and delivered a range of retail, commercial, residential and masterplanning schemes and believes in a hands-on approach with close involvement and collaboration throughout each project stage.
Amr’s completed projects include: Henry Wood House, the refurbishment a mid-century former BBC building into a 76,000sqft stylish co-working space; Dept W, the sensitive restoration of a former Edwardian department store in Whitechapel into contemporary offices; the fit-out for The Bloomsbury Building in central London for The Office Group, and Herbal House, a 120,000 sq ft mixed-use refurbishment of the former St Martins College building in Clerkenwell.
Furthermore, Amr has led our entire collaboration with Fred Perry, which has seen the completion of two offices and fourteen global boutique stores for over a decade. These include flagship stores such as Covent Garden, Coal Drops Yard, Munich, Paris, Seoul and New York. Prior to this, Amr’s expertise in retail and hospitality saw him oversee seventeen restaurants for Nando’s and Zizzi.
Amr’s current projects include: Technique, a dramatic re-imagination of an existing 1960’s former printworks and gin distillery into a new art-led creative hub, Moscova 33, which extends and reconfigures an existing building in central Milan and is arranged around a new atrium; The Truman Brewery, where BuckleyGrayYeoman are creating a mixed-use scheme with a new public courtyard comprised of new and existing buildings, and The Goodsyard, a major regeneration scheme in East London for which BuckleyGrayYeoman are designing a large commercial building with retail and public space at ground level for a central plot - the scheme involves extensive negotiations with local pressure groups, residents and Historic England.
Amr completed his diploma at the Architectural Association in 2005 and joined BuckleyGrayYeoman the same year. He became an Associate Director in 2013 and a Director in 2019.
