The Rosebery

12 April 2013

BuckleyGrayYeoman have completed an £8 million revamp of a former industrial building in Clerkenwell, transforming it into The Rosebery, a serviced apartment hotel for long stay guests.  The hotel has 58 serviced apartments, as well as a wine bar and furniture showroom on the ground floor. A rooftop extension has added two new floors to the existing four-storey building. BuckleyGrayYeoman worked with designer Susan Walters on the interiors, using British tweed textiles and furniture.

The aim was to form a dialogue between old and new, creating architectural additions that enhanced the character of the existing building. The result is a confident piece of contemporary design that sensitivity reinterprets the building, creating a new destination for leisure and shopping. BuckleyGrayYeoman drew upon their considerable experience in designing apart’hotels and other hospitality projects but were also influenced by their work in the high-end residential sector, creating first class accommodation for business travelers.
