New planning permission in Fitzrovia

2 August 2016

BuckleyGrayYeoman got planning consent for a mixed-used building on 18 Wells Street. On Behalf of Berners-Allsopp,  the practice will demolish a four-storey 1960s office building and replace it with a six-storey building, with a retail unit on the ground and lower ground  floor, divided into four floors of office space and two apartments on the upper levels. Each office floor will have its own private balcony to the rear and secure bicycle parking on the ground floor. The façade will be elegant and contemporary, clad in light brick laid with varying orientations and bonds to articulate the façade. Reconstituted stone lintels span the window bays adding further visual interest. On the ground floor, green glazed bricks will provide a hardwearing  finish that differentiates the use of the shop. Aluminium framed full-height windows with Juliette balconies face onto the street.
