Acknowledging the patina of ancient alleys and passageways across the City, this redevelopment will connect a large 1980s building back to the urban grain and dramatically improves its public face.   Briefed to redevelop an existing building for a new generation of tenants, we saw that making the building more permeable would raise its profile, giving it presence on two major City thoroughfares. By opening up Nun Court, a route which predates the development of Moorgate, we will be able to make this link and create new retail frontage.   We added a bronze-framed lightbox with fluted glass to signal the Moorgate entrance, with decorative bronze louvres to frame the retail unit. BuckleyGrayYeoman has secured planning consent on behalf of First Base and Patron Capital for a £100m mixed-use project which will revitalise the site of the former Amex House in Brighton. The 300,000 sq ft project, known as Edward Street Quarter, will create a bustling new hub for Brighton, breathing new life into the eastern section of the city through introducing commercial retail uses, set in landscaped green spaces, and 168 new homes. BuckleyGrayYeoman have recently been appointed by developer First Base as masterplanner and architects for a new 300,000 ft2 mixed use scheme on the site of the former Amex House in Brighton. Early designs for Edwards Street Quarter show that the site will accommodate approximately 150-200 homes alongside around 150,000- 200,000 ft2 of commercial space. The centre of the site will feature a new landscaped square, while we will look into reinstate Mighell Street, which once cut across the site, providing a pedestrian route that will run through the centre of the development. Fantastic progress photos of Commodity Quay at St Katharine Docks, taken a few weeks ago. BuckleyGrayYeoman has been appointed to work on the major upgrade and enhancement of central London’s only marina.
