Herbal House Complete

Herbal House is an exciting development in the heart of London’s creative district in Clerkenwell. An extensive process of refurbishment has turned the ten-storey building into lively and characterful office space and apartments. Herbal House was originally built in 1928 for the Daily Mirror, later becoming part of the campus of Central St Martins and the London College of Printing. Two new storeys house extra office space, roof terraces and six duplex apartments with private access via refurbished circulation cores on Herbal Hill and Back Hill, where a loading bay has been converted into a triple-height space. Berners Street sits in the heart of London’s West End, a few minutes walk north of Oxford Street. BuckleyGrayYeoman has been appointed to design a new mixed use scheme to replace both existing buildings.

Work at 42 Berners Street is progressing at pace, and we expect to complete this summer.  This mixed use development is replacing two buildings that were dated and inefficient.  The new building will comprise of attractive office spaces from 1st to 7th, with retail at ground and lower ground floors.  High quality materials are used throughout, including a portland stone front façade and bespoke joinery internally.  The frame is now complete and the façade cladding is well under way.
