Just around the corner from London's Victoria Station lies a building complex which houses the Homelessness charity, The Passage. First constructed in 1863 as a girls’ orphanage and night school, the complex of buildings has been renovated by BuckleyGrayYeoman to meet the ever increasing demands of providing adequate care for the homeless people of London. BuckleyGrayYeoman has won planning consent for the refurbishment of the former Wickhams Department Store on Mile End Road in London’s East End, on behalf of Resolution Property and Schroders REIM. Tower Hamlets has given the go-ahead to refurbish and extend the 1927 Beaux Arts building to create Department W: a modern, workspace-led, mixed use development of nearly 120,000 sq ft.
